Radiant Returned he/him Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 (edited) I currently own card decks featuring characters/art from the Song of Ice and Fire universe and Name of the Wind universe, and I was thinking about how awesome it would be to own a Cosmere card deck! I haven't seen them anywhere so I'm assuming this hasn't been done, but I hope they do this eventually. In the meantime, here's some cool ideas (I think) for who would be on what card: Hearts (Elantris) Ace - Hoid (As the beggar) King - Raoden Queen - Sarene Jack - Hrathen Diamonds (Warbreaker) Ace - Hoid (As the story teller) King - The God King Queen - Siri and Vivenna Jack - Lightsong Spades (Stormlight) Ace - Hoid (As Wit) King - Dalinar Queen - Shallan Jack - Kaladin Clubs (Mistborn) Ace - Hoid (As Informant) King - Elend Queen - Vin Jack - Sazed Obviously Mistborn and Stormlight will be bigger series and could have their own decks eventually to account for all the characters, but for now I thought this was the best combination. Let me know what you think! Edited February 18, 2017 by Radiant Returned Correct Elodin to Elend, though Elodin is so cool he may deserve to get a card cross-universe. 6
Hemalurgic Headshot he/him Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I would change the Mistborn Jack to Kelsier. He deserves it. And I like Hoid's continuity.
Rasarr she/her Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 This is a super cool idea! I like most of the choices, though I feel like four Hoids would be better as the Joker cards (some decks have 4 Jokers, I believe, plus that's Hoid in a nutshell). For Aces, I'd go with Shards - Aona, Edgli, Tanavast and Leras or Sazed. 2

And I like Hoid's continuity. I love Kelsier, but I went with Sazed because... (Very Major Spoilers) Spoiler ...Kelsier is only an active character in 1/3 books (first trilogy is what I'm basing this off of, couldn't think of a way to include Wax or Wayne without making a whole separate card deck). So while Kelsier's importance is far reaching, Sazed is in all 3 books and turns out to actually be the Hero that the trilogy has been talking about this whole time. So yeah, love Kelsier, but if I had Hoid continue as the Ace in all the suits then he just doesn't have a space. @Rasarr I didn't really think about Jokers, but that's a great point! I like the idea of Shards, but the only problem with that is we only know the physical description of 4 shards: Spoiler Sazed, Leras, Ati, and Tanavast And 3/4 of them are from Mistborn, with 1 being from SA. So you could definitely do it, but it wouldn't maybe be as cyclical through the four main series. But, using the 4 Joker idea, I would do this Mistborn: Kelsier Stormlight: Szeth/Eshonai/Taravangian, one of those Elantris: Galladon Warbreaker: Vasher
manukos he/him Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 oh Elodin the master namer .... what can i say that has not already been said. such an vivid and surprising character .... so surprising in fact that he seems to have dethroned Elend and maried Vin. rly good idea if cards like these are made i would buy them intantly 2
Radiant Returned he/him Posted February 18, 2017 Author Posted February 18, 2017 Due to Mistborn and Stormlight Archive being such long series, I also made deck ideas for each of them. Mistborn Joker 1 - Ati Joker 2 - Leras Hearts (Book 3 Main Cast) Ace - Sazed King - Elend Queen - Book 3 Vin Jack - Spook Spades (Lord Ruler and his Creations) A - The Lord Ruler K - The Inquisitors (Marsh) Q - The Kandra (TenSoon) J - The Koloss (Human) Diamonds (Wax and Wayne Trilogy) A - Telsin K - Waxillium Q - Steris and Marasi J - Wayne Clubs (The Thieving Crew, yes they're under "Clubs" intentionally) A - Kelsier K - Dockson Q - Book 1 Vin J - Breeze and Hammond Stormlight Archive Joker 1 - Tanavast (Honor) Joker 2 - Cultivation Hearts (Shallan's Arc) A - Shallan K - Alodin Q - Jasnah J - Taravangian Diamonds (Dalinar's Arc) A - Dalinar K - Elhokar Q - Navani J - Renarin Spades (Bridge 4) A - Kaladin K - Teft and Moash Q - Syl J - Rock and Lopen Clubs (Potential Radiants) A - Szeth K - Nale (Darkness) (Yeah I know he's not a Radiant, but he's awesome. And his card would be cool) Q - Lift J - Zahel 2
Emerald101 he/him Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 I definitely think Hoid's place is as joker. He can be very powerful or useful (depending on the game), but he doesn't belong to any particular suit/series. Also, @Radiant Returned, have you read secret history? No spoilers, but if you haven't it could definitely influence your choices for mistborn characters.

Should probably put my answer in spoiler tags Spoiler Even in Secret History, Kelsier isn't as directly involved as Vin-Elend-Sazed. Most of the Kelsier-shadows we see in the third book are just Ruin, Kelsier is all tied up with the Ire and other things. It's cool about the hand he had in the final battle, but I still don't think that makes him more vital to the series than the two main people (Vin and Kelsier) and the actual Hero of Ages (Sazed). So if Hoid was made into the joker cards, Kelsier would definitely by the new Ace imo.
Rasarr she/her Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I like your choices for the series-specific cards, though I wonder if there couldn't be a replacement for Book 1 Vin (then again, the thieving crew had only one woman, so there's that). Not sure about Zahel's place in the "Potential Radiants" club, he's something different altogether. Instead of him, maybe Taln? I'd also replace Telsin with MeLaan, seeing how (BoM) Telsin turns out to be a villain, whereas the other four (and MeLaan) are heroes. 1
