Munin he/him Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I don't want to ramble too much, though I am prone to doing so... just wanted to pop in and express my excitement over this book and the impending series, though my feelings aren't hurt at all that Brandon is finishing WoT before book 2 of this series. I have such torn feelings on this. So far, I like The Way of Kings better than any individual Wheel of Time book. On the other hand, WoT needs to finally end. I think we're on year 20 now? But I'm still sad that extra waiting needed for Stormlight Archive. The solution is simple. Human cloning. Now, we just need someone to get a DNA sample from Brandon at a book signing.

I can't yet say whether I like one series 'better' than the other... The Wheel of Time is like an old friend and even when I gripe about tea-drinking scenes, it's in good humor. The Way of Kings is so drastically different than anything else in this genre and the scope of the story... wow, after just one book I'm wondering how much information we'll be given throughout the course of this series. After only two read-throughs of this first book, I already feel pretty attached to Kaladin & Company so I think that a couple more books will definitely turn this series into one of my all-time favorites. Win, Brandon... epic win.
