Acronyms?

Hi, I was looking at some of the forum topics and saw a lot of acronyms referring (I assume) to topics in the books, for the most part. Can someone help me out by explaining some common acronyms, abbreviations, etc. to me?

Hey! Welcome to the forums!

Most acronyms are just the words that make up the titles of the book. For example, Way of Kings is abbreviated to WoK, and The Final Empire is abbreviated to TFE. I'm afraid I'm a bit pressed for time, but I should be able to give you a more complete list sometime soon. 

Oh, and by the way, don't eat cookies if they're offered to you. They're dangerous

One thing that really confused me when I was first here was WoB. That means Word of Brandon, which refers to the database of quotes from Brandon which we have to draw from.

Actually, that's untrue.

It means Word of Brandon, which is a direct cited quote from something that he says.

    The  Well of Ascension (WoA)

    The Hero of Ages (HoA)

    The Alloy of Law (AoL)

    Shadows of Self (SoS)

    The Bands of Mourning (BoM)

I am not really sure, I just noticed things like WoK and PI and other things... What's with the cookies?

Ah, well, Acronyms are only going to be necessary when you want to prove a point in debate. For a quote like that, you don't need a WoB. Anyways, direct quotations from the database are ok. WoBs are only used to describe things said by Brandon.

 

But I appreciate the enthusiasm! Also, don't worry about my words being false, I took the cookie a long time ago, and my words are protected!

You should listen to @Secrets and ma boi @Jedal with the cookies. They change you in all Three Realms so you cannot be affected by Ruin. Don't hear @bleeder, he, as the best of Ruin's agents, wants to disuade you by saying that it is spiked, it is a lie, it only has extra cinnamon, ask my friend @Ironeyes, he can tell you, he bakes the cookies.
