This is all theoretical. Ideas are welcome.

On the theoretical chance that a Mistborn was able the get their hands on a broken piece of shardplate (it shatters when hit too much) and then consumed it, what ability would it provide, given the theoretical chance that it could be burned?

Shardblades, which are

Spren (living or dead)

Are metal. According to Wyndle,

When spren form shardblades it has to be metal. We also see him turn into a fork, meaning they aren't limited to weapons

If they became something small enough, what allomantic ability would they give?

In theory, yes it could be burned. In practice, probably not as shardplate is likely too invested to be able to burn.

That's why I'm dealing with theory here. I'm just wondering what would it give if burned

I guess if the shardplate/blade is a piece of a dead spren, it'd make sense if it gave either whatever powers that spren would've given the radiant?

I believe shardplate is essentially a godmetal, though of which shard(s) I am unsure. I'm thinking that it is either of Cultivation, Honor, or both, so it would give an effect similar to the intent of those shards.

Yeah I'm pretty sure there's a really recent WoB that they're God-metal-esque. So maybe it'd turn the mistborn into a surgebinder!

Hasn't Shardplate to be confirmed/hinted at as being Tanavastium?

The key observation is that there are probably no Tanavastium Mistings on Scadrial. Spook if he ever came from his retirement/whatever could probably burn it. Pure speculation, but it might give him access to the five Surges that Honor "controlled"? So, Windrunner, Skybreaker and Bondsmith abilities if he knew what to do with them?

Also note, that Lerasium is the only god metal that anyone can burn. We've seen atium and it is not burnable but anyone other than Mistborn and Atium Mistings.

Now, what happens if you get a piece of Shardplpate that broke off during a fight (presumably with a pointy edge) and stick it into a spirit web of a Surgebinder?

Aren't shardblades and shardplate technically invested to a high degree? I'd imagine it would go as well as a misting using the metalmind of their counterpart getting to burn. That is, nothing happens.

Keep in mind,  most of the periodic table is metals. but only about 16 and the godmetals, are allomatically burnable, or ferochemically active.

Is it really Tanavastium?

I was going to argue it would not be burnable, but do we have a WoB on the metal in the last Wax and Wayne book? Is that a godmetal?

And is it burnable?

Ettmetal, the metal the southerners used is in fact Harmonium, Harmony's god metal.

Very true, yet we have not seen anyone burn it yet. Perhaps in the next book.

I see a WoB that shardblades are body of a god, but I don't see one about shardplate. Plate seems to be very different from blade. Spren don't freak out over 'dead' plate.

not really since allomantic power doesn't come from the metal but rather from the patron shard, who uses the metal as a conduit for the power

Atium is an exception to that, though - it provides its own power. I don't know if Lerasium works on the same basis, but I think it wouldn't be far-fetched that all godmetals are their own power sources, being as they are Shard's investiture in a solid state.
