prologues

So I've been trying to think about what perspectives we are going to get as the series goes on.  I remember reading somewhere that Brandon said all of the prologues are going to be from the night of the assassination, but different views.  So here's my theory of who we will get, not in order though.

1 - Szeth (WoK)
2 - Jasnah (WoR)
3 - Elhokar - he just makes sense to me since we are getting Jasnah and he is the son of Gavilar.
4- Navani - again, just makes sense to me since it was her husband that got killed.
5 - Aesudan - wife of Elhokar

Instead, she laid something on the table beside Liss. A small envelope, sealed with weevilwax.
Jasnah set two fingers on it, considering.
No. This was too brash. She didn’t know if her father realized what she was doing, but even if he hadn’t, too much was happening in this palace. She did not want to commit to an assassination until she was more certain.
Fortunately, she had prepared a backup plan. She slid a second envelope from the safepouch inside her sleeve and set it on the table instead. She removed her fingers from it, rounding the table and sitting down.
Liss sat back down and made the letter vanish into the bust of her dress. “An odd night, Brightness,” the woman said, “to be engaging in treason.”
“I am hiring you to watch only.”
“Pardon, Brightness. But one does not commonly hire an assassin to watch. Only.”
“You have instructions in the envelope,” Jasnah said. “Along with initial payment. I chose you because you are expert at extended observations. It is what I want. For now.”

Liss smiled, but nodded. “Spying on the wife of the heir to the throne? It will be more expensive this way. You sure you don’t simply want her dead?”

WoR prologue

So if Jasnah is willing to possibly assassinate her, she must be up to some stuff which could be playing into this.

6 - the Parshendi - we have to see from their perspective why they did it right?  But I think this would be one of the last ones, maybe even book 9.

7 - Gavilar - this one seems bound to happen to but I would think it would be the last one we get.

8- Sadeas - he seems to be caught up in a lot of scheming so I would think he was up to something that night

9 - Amaram

It seemed obvious to her that Gavilar and Amaram had ducked out to find privacy for their discussion....Amaram met her eyes, then murmured words of parting to her father and hastened away down the corridor.

“What errand did you give him?” Jasnah asked. “What are you about this night, Father?”

“The treaty, of course.”

WoR prologue

He knows about the Ghostbloods and is opposing them in WoK, and he is involved in something secret with Gavilar, so I think we will see more of this and find out what it is toward the end of the series

10 - ??

I can't figure out who would be the last one, maybe Hoid, but we have no evidence that I know of that would place him at the feast.  Maybe Taravangain, but again no evidence to say he was there.  Am I missing some else that would be obvious?

Thoughts?

It's only been confirmed that the first five book cycle will have prologues set during the night of Gavilar's assassination. You've got some cool ideas though, I like them. :)

oh really?  Ok I guess it may end up just being something like Elhokar, the Parshendi, and Gavilar.

Is there any reason you don't have any Heralds on the list?

I remember when I was here before there was speculation about a Herald that could have been there, but I didn't remember the name and I didn't know of a confirmation that there was definitely a Herald at the party. Although this could be a confirmation assuming it is about Salash and that Szeth carries Jez's Honor blade.

Words echoed in the hallway, coming from up ahead. “I’m worried about Ash.”

“You’re worried about everything.”

Jasnah hesitated in the hallway.

“She’s getting worse,” the voice continued. “We weren’t supposed to get worse. Am I getting worse? I think I feel worse.”

“Shut up.”

“I don’t like this. What we’ve done was wrong. That creature carries my lord’s own Blade. We shouldn’t have let him keep it. He—”

You are correct. The Azish man with the crescent is definitely Darkness; presumed to be Nalan Herald of Justice.

Funny thing is, I think the other guy is also a Herald. Referring to Shalash, as Ash is personal. As in has had extensive contact with said person. So I don't think this is one of Darkness' flunkies speaking.

Jezrien may have also been the drunk drooling, have you seen me? At the same party, but that is wild speculation at this point.

I think I've posted this elsewhere, but I'm betting on getting Gavilar's PoV in book 5, and Eshonai (or another parshendi) in either 3 or 4.

I would think 4, since it would be a great segway to Gavilar.  The only question would be if it is Elhokar or Darkness.  If it is Darkness it would give away his identity for sure.  I guess it depends on if we find out who Darkness is in this book or not.
