Szeths afterimages

So apparently brandon says that szeths afterimages are caused by his cognitive shadow not sticking well to his body. Is a change in his bodys identity that causes this?

Possibly identity. I think it's more likely though that Nale just messed something up when he healed him at the end of WoR, though I guess you could say that that caused the misalignment in identity, but I don't think it's entirely related to identity.
