Capt. Goradel Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 One problem I have had with Stormlight Archive was resolved in this story. I never liked how Shallan was able to become a radiant as a very young girl because I feel like a child would have trouble comprehending the concepts necessary to become a knight. But in edgedancer, lift advances simply by embodying an ideal in her thoughts and desires. While older than shallan I still think this is comparable, and resolved my dissatisfaction with that part of WoR.
Droughtbringer Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 You also have the fact that as a light Weaver you only have the first oath, and the rest are just truths

You are chosen by a certain spren because you already sort of embody the ideals that it stands for but the bond then also seemingly allows you to know and understand the ideals as it grows. I feel like it is not only the spren that becomes more aware due to the bond.
