I removed this passage from the section "Hemalurgic Use": "It could also be assumed that, like Atium, any ability provided through its spikes would be fueled by its respective shard, Trell, rather than Preservation."

No source and I'm sure that even when things get stolen by atium spike its still Preservation fueling Allomancy, not Ruin. Ruin only fuels burning atium and its alloys.
