Question

Hi, new member her. I was wondering if we ever got a definitive answer on what Teods local magic system was.

Its been about 6 months since I read Elantris but I don't remember seeing what Teod's Magic system was (elantrians had Aons, fjorden had dahkor) While reading I thought that maybe they didn't have a Magic because it was on a different continent. But now I know that the emperors soul is on the same continent as Teod and they have forgery.

So I have looked everywhere, even the copper mind, and haven't found an answer. Does Teod have a Magic system? If not why?

thanks!

As I recall, the Teoish don't have their own form of investiture because they're of Aonic descent. They get taken by the Shaod and become Elantrians instead of having their own thing. That's why Wyrn had Dilaf attack Teod, to commit genocide against the Aonic people so that there would be no more Elantrians.

Like @RenegadeShroom said. Teod is inside the AondDor Area... For example in the climax of the novel, we see Elantrian use AonDor on Toed at average power (this is a thing a bit confused in the book because Elantris boost the AonDor beyond its "rightful power level").

This is how strong would an AonDor user be if they have not a AonDor's amplifier as Elantris....If you began to leave the Arelon-Teod area...your power began to fade

That makes sense, I guess it just confused me that the Aonic symbols were only based on and effected by the geography of arelon but not Teod.
