Oversleep Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Topic name: Storing non-powers Innate Investiture So, what we have seen done with nicrosil is only storing actual Metalborn powers. But we know that Spiritweb contains more Innate Investiture than just powers. First of all, Investiture makes humans sentient. Secondly, if you can steal it, you can store it: from Hemalurgy we know that much more is stealable: strength, senses, emotional stability, intelligence... Not to mention Paalm's chimaeras with what I guess to be animal attributes. I wonder what would happen if a Soulbearer were to store and later tap those parts of Spiritweb. It should be possible, however I can see it being more difficult to store than just powers. Discuss! Edited August 15, 2016 by Oversleep
Yata he/him Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 I worked to the same idea for a while and I agree with you at the 100% But I think there are problems to store other things (aka the Human Attributes). To me it's hard to separate yourself from a standard human attributes, and I mean from the Cognitive Poin of view. To decide to store something soo deep radicate in yourself. The powers may be see as an extra to an human being, in your live you meet tons of powerless people, you may see the power as something external to an human being... the Human attributes are harder to separate in this way.
Oversleep Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I found a WoB that proves me right about other parts of the soul being stealable: Quote Question Can Hemalurgy steal other manifestations of Investiture? Brandon Sanderson Yes. If it is part of the soul, Hemalurgy can steal it. source
RYANHOME he/him Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Could Hemalurgy steal the part of the soul thats bonded to a Spren?

Once there are a WoB (I will post here when I found) who said you may stole a Shardblade with Hemalurgy and it's quite the same thing. But remember that if you "stole a Spren" you may have some strange effects as for example kill him with an Oathbreaking. The Spren's bond is very dependant from the Human's partner habit.
