Edit: FALSE ALARM it was just a violet broam. I got way too excited and didn't do the proper research. I'm leaving this theory up just as a testament to my own stupidity.

Loved the chapters obviously. my biggest question is what was the glowing pool of violet? Did a puddle somehow absorb stormlight? Was it a  puddlespren?

First of all, major credit to Logain for noticing this. My eyes skipped past this. Here's the actual quote from the chapter itself:

This was their true home, these rents in the earth, these places lower than any other. As his eyes adjusted to the dimness, the memories of death receded, though he would never be free of them. He would forever bear those scars upon his memory like the many upon his flesh. Like the ones on his forehead.
The pool in front of him glowed a deep violet. He’d noticed it earlier, but in the light of his sphere it had been harder to see. Now, in the dimness, the pool could reveal its eerie radiance.
Syl landed on the side of the pool, looking like a woman standing on an ocean’s shore. Kaladin frowned, leaning down to inspect her more closely. She seemed… different. Had her face changed shape?

I've speculated previously on the colors of Shards. Roshar has three moons, and they have three colors.  According to the Stormlight Archive Wiki:

The first moon is Salas, which is the smallest and the dimmest of the moons, casting a violet light. The middle moon is Nomon, which is a bright, pale blue. The third moon is Mishim, which is small and green, rising in the east.

I've previously tried to assign colors to Roshar's Shards. I think blue is Honor (Windrunners + honorspren), green is Cultivation (green for plants and vines and Wyndle), and violet is Odium (who is associated with the night).

So... Odium's Shardpool in the Shattered Plains, anyone? I sense a similarity between it and the little pools at the bottom of the Pits of Hathsin in Mistborn. It could also be Cultivation's, I suppose. The Old Magic just says purple to me, and of course green can be envy.

Lol, I did find that puddle intriguing as well, but for a different reason... I might be wrong here, but I think this is our first view of an Amethyst gem! (enter Kurkistan with a  quote to prove me wrong... :P ) I, too, thought something weird was going on, until I thought of the gem thing shortly before it was revealed in text. Oh well!

And yeah, nice catch about the moon!

It's weird that you didn't mention Syl's face looking different near the pool as evidence of something fishy going on. That set off alarm bells for me.
