Radiant Returned he/him
I'm relatively new to this site but over the last couple months I've poured through Theory land and some of the Q&As with Brandon Sanderson on here, but I was wondering if there was any place that had all the WoB in order, or more specifically a way to know whenever a new interview has been posted?
CaptainRyan he/him
@Radiant Returned there is an "Events & Signings" forum here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/forum/27-events-and-signings/ It generally has transcripts of most events. The good people of the 17th Shard record the events and then transcribe the recordings. As far as I know, Theoryland is the closest thing we have to a WoB database and learning to navigate that can be a bit tricky. Of course, one can always google Brandon Sanderson and certain keywords to try and discover a WoB. Last resort for me is usually to beg in a thread for someone to look it up for me haha. There are some real pros on the site who have a great knowledge of WoBs.
Fedcomic he/him
Searching for Brandon Sanderson on YouTube will also get you lots of results for Q&As at cons and book signings and such. If you're like me, then you might just enjoy listening to some of these. You can learn a lot about your authors and their worlds (and about writing and a million other things) this way. My favorite writers to listen to on YouTube are Brandon, Jim Butcher, Dean Wesley Smith, and Pat Rothfuss. But lots of writers have fans post these kinds of videos there. Poke around. Lots of interesting stuff out there.
Ari he/him
Yep, reading transcripts and watching signing videos is the best way to start getting up to date with the info from WoBs. You only really need to learn to navigate Theoryland if you want a specific reference that you know is archived there. (Not everything is yet) If someone's given a signing report on the events forum that has something relevant to a discussion, you can just link to the thread or cross-quote the post. (Clicking the quote button on one thread, but pasting it into your reply in the other will link people to that specific post as well as quoting it) Most of us that go around quoting WoBs either have a ridiculous memory, or just obsessively keep up with interview answers. You don't need to know everything, just reading a lot of the more recent stuff will get you up to speed on most things, as a lot of the early WoBs are revealed in later books, or are common discussion points on Cosmere theories now anyway. (like the names of Devotion, Dominion, and Endowment, for instance)
