Pathfinder Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Ah darn, there goes that theory. Thanks for the WOB! I thought they were just long-lived. In that case, the Ire are likely just a normal group of Elantrians, and the grey skin/infusion of dor-juice is needed to keep them going and powerful far away from Elantris No worries I agree. Would love to know if they were a splinter group, or actually represented Elantris though. 1
Shardbearer he/him Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Preservation told Kelsier that they died, but did not die or something like that, so that to me is a big hint that they were part of the Reod.
Blackhoof Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 It is curious that if these Elantrians did indeed recently come from Sel, that technology on Sel hasn't advanced very far. Hundreds of years after Raoden, guards are still using pikes? No guns, or crossbows? Although Sel didn't seem like a particularly war-like planet, even moreso after the return of the Elantrians. But I would agree that they are using this liquid Dor to have power far away from Elantris, and perhaps maintain their Connection to Arelon? Its a similar liquid as was in that orb, yeah? the orb that allowed a Connection to Preservation. Perhaps the stuff they drink is 'keyed' to Arelon?

We may be seeing the same stall in technology that Harmony laments. If Elantrians can make food out of thin air, why invent the plow? 1
