I think that was the country the events took place in) would you be able to be taken by the Shaod? What would happen if you got taken by the Shaod and became an Elantrian but then removed the medallion? 1

Second one I think you would remain an Elantrian as the Shaod is a one time event, not an ongoing process. In the book Raoden figured out that the reason the Reod did what it did was that in the instant that the Shaod took someone, they became trapped in that moment as the Dor had no way of completing the transformation. 1

Hoid was in Arelon with the intent of becoming an Elantrian, it would seem, and he was actually disappointed that whatever he was trying didn't work. He might not have been using a medallion such as this, but it's highly likely he was doing something to create a connection that didn't work out for him. Edited February 8, 2016 by Blaze1616
