Popular Post DeadFencer Posted December 29, 2015 Popular Post Posted December 29, 2015 So this is already mentioned in a topic, but I thought I'd make the warning more available. Amazon messed up on the preview for Bands of Mourning and accidentally posted more than they should have. That would be fine, if they didn't somehow manage to post the BOOK'S ENDING. This ending apparently contains massive revelations that the entire book was leading up to. Obviously this isn't something many people would like to read unintentionally. If you do read it, any discussion of the ending is not allowed here, even with spoiler tags. Sorry if this PSA is against the board's rules. I'm new here, and wouldn't ,make such a post if it weren't this important. 21
Stormgate he/him Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 New here or not, it is something I support. Unlike Alcatraz, though, Sanderson doesn't put things in the backs of his books to prevent reading the end of the book first. 3
Young Bard he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Kudos to you. Just saying, the admins would probably have done something similar if you hadn't beaten them to it. So no rule-breaking at all. Although, just a side note: The beginning part is fine. Peter has specifically said it is OK to read the prologue (well, most of the prologue - it's not all there.) Just don't scroll down further, or else you will receive massive spoilers. 1
Kaymyth she/her Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Is...is Amazon run by drunken lemurs? 7
Stormgate he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 No, it is the same drunken monkey that runs the Cosmere, according to Lightsong. I just realized that Sanderson was insulting himself. 4
Zathoth Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Is...is Amazon run by drunken lemurs? It is obviously run by the part of REDACTED Inc you dont work for.
Chaos he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 You are correct and we posted briefly about this on the Bands Chapter 4 thread. Don't read these. Trust me. You'll thank me later. Once Tor gets back to their office they will bug Amazon presumably...
Stormgate he/him Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Perhaps they will give the people at Amazon cookies... Note: DA members, attack Amazon. 2
Plaeggs he/him Posted January 2, 2016 Posted January 2, 2016 I think that there's a lawsuit in this if someone wants to pursue it. Something about emotional scarring, and throw in a bit of over-dramatization, and you got yourself a couple thou nice and easy. Hmmm...
The Ninja Yodeler he/him Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Wow that is a serious blunder. Good thing I only read Tors chapter releases.
ethangraham95 he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Thanks for the warning. Imma just wait it out for the book to be released and not read any previews though. It's like waiting until Christmas morning to open your presents; it's all one big surprise
