Not a very complex theory, but I like it.

 

North of the Purelake are the Reshi Isles and Reshi sea.

 

Bast in The Name of the Wind calls Kvothe Reshi.

 

The Name of the Wind was published in 2007.

 

The Way of Kings was published in 2010.

 

I'm pretty sure Brandon likes Pat Rothfuss (he did send him an advance copy of TWoK).

 

Ergo, it seems that Brandon is naming places after Kvothe.

I don't see why not. I know that the mountain range east of Shinovar is called the Misted Mountains as an homage to Lord of the Rings, like the Mountains of Mist in the Wheel of Time.
