Presumably they use up stormlight to operate so energy isn't actually gained by any manipulations.

 

Stormlight comes from a Shard, so it's endless. I think this strongly implies there's a limited amount of power, but infinite energy.

 

There's also Feruchemy, which comes from you and does gain energy through weight manipulation.
