I know it would probably take more work than it is worth, but I would really enjoy a 17th shard mobile app. It doesn't have to do much really, I'd be happy to just get notifications to buzz on my phone. Reading the forums would help too, but personally more the notifications. Anyone here good at developing apps and have a little free time? :)

I'm not sure, I've never tried an app that would work for any forum. Reddit could be considered one, but that's about all the mobile stuff I do as far as forums go.

I want to code an app one day. Someday...

In the meantime, if you want notifications on a phone/tablet, you can set email preferences to do that for you, you know?

I know IPB is technically compatible with Tapatalk, but I despise that if you enable Tapatalk, whenever you go to the mobile site it bugs you to get Tapatalk. So... we aren't going to do that.

Oh! good point on the email notifications! I don't mean any offense, but I have a spam account that would fit that need perfectly.

Haha, no offense taken. Fortunately you can have rather fine-tuned control over what you get emailed about.

I really would love this app to happen sometime, and when it does, I would definitely like it to work with the MBI and coppermind subsites as well. (which makes me wonder what happened to the MBI's mobile site)

Huh. Let me check on MBIs mobile site. There should be no reason why it isn't working there...

I'd like an app to work with the subsites too. I would prioritize Coppermind access first, but yeah, that would be great.

As for MBI, I used to use the mobile site, then the link was removed (when entering the desktop site via mobile, the low lefthand corner used to have a link). My phone reverted to the desktop regularly and I always went to the mobile. My iPod, however, did not ever revert, and still opens the mobile site by default when accessing MBI, so I know it works, although the link to it is absent.

I guess we just need to re-link to the mobile client.

I believe I have rectified this MBI issue.

Additionally, I'm going to move this topic to the Suggestions and Site Issues board, as it is more relevant to the site rather than general technology discussion :)

See Chaos post four posts above, Argent.

Fun fact: I was in a bit of a rush, so I didn't read the replies before mine. I remember thinking something along the lines "man, I hope has mentioned Tapatalk before, 'cause, boy, would I look like a dumbass."

It works! Thank you!

First time in a long time you visit us, eh?

Indeed, I have my master's comprehensive exams in January, so much of my time is devoted to studying, classwork, and a slight bit of video games to stay sane. Not much time for administrative work I'm afraid.

You're fine :)

My hopes were more for an increase in players than for an increase in admins. But nevermind, I said it with a grin, and have no intention of dragging you back to administrate, especially not when you are swamped.

More importantly, good luck with your masters!!!
