To begin with, I am a long time fan of Robert Jordan. You know, the kind of fan that waits with baited breath for each new book just dying to know what is happening to the characters that have become a part of your family. Then I hear that some "nobody" named Brandon Sanderson is going to finish up Mr. Jordan's world due to his illness and then untimely death. Needless to say, I was very skeptical. So, I read Elantris. I was hooked. Now this all happened a few years ago before Brandon blew up and was such a household name. After reading Elantris, I emailed Brandon to just let him know that a die hard Robert Jordan fan was giving him two thumbs up and looking forward to the new WoT books. It still amazes me even today, but Brandon actually took the time to write me back. If I wasn't already sold on what a great author he was, that simple thing of him writing back to a lowly little fan won me. Since then, I now own everything that Brandon has written, read them all (some more than I can count) and can't wait for more. So, I guess to sum it all up....I love Brandon.
