Featured Page Change?

It seems like Lift has been the featured page for a while, so I think that the featured page should get changed.  One idea I have had is Wax, since he's the main character of the recently-released Shadows of Self.  Does anyone else have featured page suggestions?

Wayne, or the obvious choice of Hoid. MeLaan or Bleeder would work too.

Actually, I would be prefer not to link to anything with new-release spoilers from the front page. If we want a Scadrial related article, maybe compounding, or Spook.

My suggestion, though, would be something for Elantris, since we've had the anniversary edition come out. Hrathen could be a good one.

but seriously, I side with ccstat on this one, spoilers are probably best kept away from the front page, except there should probably be a big banner saying we have spoilers everywhere else, but yeah, Elantris deserves some love

Obviously the featured article should be changed but such articles need to actually be good and have images associated with them. There is not a wide variety of such things.

The time that Lift has occupied the Featured slot is still less than the time Hallandren occupied it prior to Lift. The Featured page is generally an article under the classification of "exemplary", which offers what, 11 options, most of which are from the Stormlight Archive? 

 

I'd say that if you want a new Featured article, write up a new exemplary article to offer some variety

I don't think the Vin page is ready yet. I'm the one who wrote the bulk of the article as it is now, and there's a lot that still needs to be added, particularly from the Hero of Ages; that section is pretty bare-bones. Also the existing parts may need to be edited...? Written better? At the moment, it's not complete, and not good enough to be the featured article, IMO. We could try to get it to exemplary status and then feature it, though. I'd be happy to get back into that article and finish it!

I agree with Shroom. Vin is passable but it is not excellent and so I don't think it should be featured yet.

I am generally not one to say who should do what on the wiki, because people should do what they are passionate about. However, I honestly don't know if Vin is the best use of time. Certainly much of the original trilogy needs to be better, but I would generally say to focus on the new stuff. On the other hand, there was that guy who was super pissy that some main character pages were not up to par (like Dilaf).

Writing long articles is really hard and a huge effort. I cannot think of anything more time intensive than writing an article on the main character of three books.

How about Kelsier? His page is pretty complete.

Kelsier's page is okay, but not great. We're looking for exemplary articles here, and there are precious few of those, because they are so time intensive. I'm working on a potential new one right now, but I'm not sure if we can steal art from the MAG.
