AndrewStirlingMacDonald he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Assuming that it was not just an impressive mess-up in my version, it seems that Brass has been given new symbol, though I have no idea why this is. Brass now seems to be the only symbol to not have a dot in it. At first I wondered if it was some sort of misprint, but the line is clear and steady, not blurred at all, and it's not like there was some OTHER symbol that they accidentally inserted, as might happen with a typo. New art has to be specifically made, and we know that an artist created at least one other new Metallurgic symbol for that last chapter heading. So, any theories as to why Brass has changed?
WeiryWriter he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 It hasn't been changed, that's the same version of the symbol that was used in Alloy. All of the Steel alphabet characters were updated (to reflect the progression of time) in Alloy. 2

Wasing the screwing up are the newing people of all the good ways the olding people doing it. (Hope the message comes across well enough. I'm not that fluent in writing High Imperial.) :-) 1
AndrewStirlingMacDonald he/him Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 As in, it was just an artist's error? Or a Scadrian error? I feel like it's pretty unlikely to have been a Brandon error. Perhaps I will ask him about this at the signing in Boston tonight.
