I've been rereading the Mistborn Trilogy in preparation for Shadows of Self, and I've noticed that there are a few Allomancers that we (or I) don't know the identity of. Minor spoilers for The Final Empire and The Well of Ascension.

In The Final Empire, while Vin is fighting Shan Elariel, there is another Mistborn that is with Shan. She defeats him early on in the battle. It is implied, however, that he survived the encounter. Here is what is said by Straff Venture:

Elend sighed. "Did we capture any of the assassins alive, then?"

Straff shook his head. "One fell to the courtyard as he was trying to flee. He got away- he might have been Mistborn too. We found one man dead on the roof, but we aren't sure if there were others in the team or not."

This is on page 531 (paperback) if you want to check. Also, as I was reading The Well of Ascension, during the encounter between Vin and the assassins at the assembly (the one where the Assembly will nominate their new king) Vin gets strangled by one of the assassins, who is a thug. This seems unimportant, but then Vin says this in her head:

Elend pounded, yelling for help, but his voice sounded distant. The thug pressed his face almost up against Vin's, and she could see his fury. At that moment, incredibly, a thought occurred to her.

Where have I seen this man before? (Page 462 paperback)

Vin then proceeds to pretty much blow his head up.

So any ideas on who these people might be? There may be more hidden allomancers that we don't know about. Their identities may be unimportant, but I suppose it could be fun to speculate in who they might be.

The second one is one of Straff Venture's bastards. He most likely looks familiar because he resembles both Elend and Zane (who she notices resemble each other pretty closely, despite having different mothers, so Straff's looks apparently carry strongly through the genes).

EDIT:Oh, wait! No! She recognizes him because he was the Thug that Cett had in his retinue when she and Elend go to dinner to meet with him. Zane had him planted there. He later blamed the attack on Cett.

Indeed, I just read that part. Should of read a bit farther before bringing it up, but oh well. Still, do we have any idea who the Mistborn is?

We know Vin killed a few Mistborn between the books, because that's how she burned through their atium supply. They had seven beads, and she uses up the very last one at the start of Well of Ascension.

There's more I could say, but if you're only up to the part where we find out Zane planted his half-brothers in Cett's retinue specifically to frame him for an attack on Elend, then it would spoil things.

I've read all of them, so I know everything that happens. I'm just rereading them and I noticed this, and I don't remember ever finding out who he was.

Ah. In an epigraph, the Hero of Ages mentions that Ruin needed to find Mistborn to give duralumin to his Inquisitors, so we know at least some of them died there. Others prolly died in squabbles between Kings, and Vin killed a few. There were never hundreds. Basically, I just figure any that didn't die in the wars following the Collapse didn't realize that using their powers would signal to Ruin, hey, here's power for you, and were found and spiked by the Inquisitors.
