Wow, what an amazing second book to this series. So many twists and turns, but I have to say the last 120 pages or so blew me away.

I thought they would carry on with Egwene being a Damane into the third book, but how they had her put the a'dam on Renna and cover her mouth while she tortured her...that part of the book had me turning pages like crazy.

I am excited to see how Nynaeve turns out and when she finally learns to control the one power through another means besides absolute rage.  Min and Elayne are still a guess for me.  Loial is good ol' Loial so far, but he really adds a good breather to the book.

Ingtar being a Darkfriend really shook me for some reason, I just never pictured he, or any Shienaran being a Darkfriend, but as he even put it, Darkfriends are every where taking over every thing.

Kind of anticipating Selene being One of the Forsaken, but we'll have to wait and see.  Mat and Perrin are still a toss up for me as well, they have a role so far, but not really a role at all if anyone here knows what I am saying.

Eagerly anticipating a Whitecloak revolution (hopefully they kill the Questioners and try to find actual dark friends.)

Going to Chapters tomorrow to pick up The Dragon Reborn.

PS. No spoilers in the comments please if you decide to leave one.

The reveal of Ingtar betrayal followed by his redemption was one fo the most powerful moments in the book imho.

As for Selene, I think it was kinda obvious from the start that her encounter with Rand was no mere chance, even by the standards of WoT where chance is the Pattern's little REDACTED.

Don't worry about Mat and Perrin, the former spent most of the first two books being mind-raped by that dagger so he couldn't really shine, but he will more make it up to you, trust me. As for Perrin, he takes some time to get started, but he is still my favourite of the main trio.

thanks for the reply, to see Mat step up as a main character because I feel he has so much to add to the story...also I have to keep telling myself...you still have 12 books to go and not all can be revealed like a standard trilogy. Anyways...Review of the first three books will be in coming when I get through the dragon reborn.
