Moogle Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) Uh, you guys are forgetting that Szeth healed his own Shardblade wounds during his last battle with Kaladin. Can you provide a quote? I am afraid I don't remember this at all. From my understanding, Szeth didn't have as much Stormlight efficiency as Kaladin, so he couldn't heal his Shardblade wounds at all. He had to rely on Nalan to do it. Edited April 25, 2014 by Moogle
Sylveris he/him Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 If I remember correctly, while he technically could fixed his arm, his lack of stormlight efficiency meant that he needed far more stormlight for this, which he needed to fight Kaladin. That at least what Kaladin is thinking when Szeth run away from him, the WoB you gave didn't say he couldn't heal his shardblade-wounds, or that his powers worked way more differently that Kaladin's, only that his understanding of how his powers work was different than what Kaladin do.

Kaladin spun around and slashed his spear— which became a sword—through Szeth’s foot. ... As Stormlight tried to heal the assassin, Kaladin pulled in close and slammed his hand against Szeth’s stomach, a knife appearing there and digging deeply into the skin. He sought the spine. ... Szeth slowed, his wounds healing. So I believe it's clear. Windrunners, Edgedancers, and Truthwatchers can heal Shardblade wounds.Edit: @athas65: Yes, we agree that Szeth can heal Shardblade wounds as well. Edited April 25, 2014 by skaa
Moogle Posted April 25, 2014 Posted April 25, 2014 (edited) So I believe it's clear. Windrunners, Edgedancers, and Truthwatchers can heal Shardblade wounds. That quote doesn't seem to support healing the Shardblade wounds. Kaladin wouldn't be able to see if Szeth was healing Shardblade wounds, because Szeth was not walking around barefoot, and Kaladin only ever partially severed his shoulder. It seems to refer to this particular bout: As Kaladin chased, Szeth spun and fell backward, attacking, though Syl became a shield to block. Kaladin swung down and a hammer appeared in his hand, crashing against Szeth’s shoulder, breaking bones. As Stormlight tried to heal the assassin, Kaladin pulled in close and slammed his hand against Szeth’s stomach, a knife appearing there and digging deeply into the skin. He sought the spine. Szeth is not mentioned as healing before this happened, even when both him and Kaladin were in the highstorm with an endless Stormlight reserve. He would have healed his wounds at that point, if he could. Edited April 25, 2014 by Moogle 1
