Isomere Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 @ Kadrok: Hrm, I hadn't thought about that particular question, and I don't know how far to stretch the DNA analogy. Soooo, lets just push it till the analogy pops and see where we end up. I support Lerasium-alloys overwriting your current Misting ability and replacing it with a different power, and I like the idea that Spike Burning would work the same way. However, I could also see Hemalurgy allowing for messy genetics with simultaneous expression of multiple polymorphic alleles, all coding for a single gene locus. Said another way, you could have several working copies of the DNA that allows Allomancy. I shudder to think of all the stuff that can go wrong with those types of experiments though.
Phantom Monstrosity Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 (edited) zas678 (Reddit.com) You've said that Inquisitors could have children. Would those children have a better chance at being Allomancers compared to if they had the kids before they were Inquisitors?Brandon SandersonYes, but there also could be...complications. I figure those... complications could be similar to the results of burning spikes, but we just don't have the info. If you got additional SDNA permanently attached, I figure you could easily end up as a double misting. Instead of erasing+rewriting a book with lerasium, you're getting some glue and attaching half a dictionary onto the way of kings. Edited May 17, 2013 by Phantom Monstrosity
