If you were a Tineye, would you want to be a savant or not?

Personally I think the benefits of being a tin savant outweight the disatvantages. When you're a tin savant, your senses becomes dull and numb while not burning tin. This could be useful in a plethora of situations: Bad stench? extinguish your tin. You're in pain? extinguish your tin. Nothing to eat but disgusting food? extinguish your tin. Noises too loud? extinguish your tin. Lights too bright? You get the idea.

 

And when you do burn tin, which would be most of the time, you could combat most of the side effects: Outside during the day or in illuminated places you could just wear sunglasses. Modern socks and shoes should dull most if not all of the sensations you might get by stepping on rocks and such, not to mentions modern streets are paved pretty good anyway. You could use ear plugs if noises are too distracting, or in-ear hedphones if you're outside and don't want to look weird, etc.

 

And that's without even taking into account the useful factors of being a Tin savant, like seeing in near complete darkness, seeing clearly from a massive distance, having much more pleasure in eating tasty food, hearing people whisper from a distance, and having much more sensation is certain... activities. Not to mention being able to fight almost as if you were burning atium (we saw Spook doing it).

For me personally it'd be a bad idea, I already get migraines from bright lights/ loud noises, tineye would be bad enough but a savant? 
We also don't know all of the ways that it damages the body, it could significantly shorten lifespan.
