Oudeis he/him Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 Obviously, it's been firmly established that Allomancy and Feruchemy are at least loosely genetic. Has anyone ever heard confirmed that it's a purely genetic trait? Would identical twins, by definition, share the same allomantic and feruchemical traits?
Observer Posted January 6, 2013 Posted January 6, 2013 The genetic component is simply the ability to be an allomancer. Two Coinshots are fully capable of having any kind of allomancer, including a Mistborn. It'a more to do with your spiritual connection to Preservation, which is only, as you put it, loosely genetic. So no, I don't think twins would always share an allomantic power. Feruchemy, however, is quite possibly a whole different animal. AN animal we really don't know as much about as we do allomancy, so whether or not the argument for allomancy still applies is up in the air. 1
