Yamato Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 Heh. Good point. I was just trying to talk about my preferences, and the reasons for my decisions, and I got worked up, just like always. I might just take that suggestion.
Aethling he/him Posted October 19, 2012 Posted October 19, 2012 But you have to think that paper is actually a renewable resource. The paper company where I live keeps forests full of trees. They eventually cut them down, but they also replant after a few years. Compare that with the gold, silver, plastics, etc that are part of ereaders, and real books are far more ecological. I don't believe that anyone would want to go back to vellum or papyrus. Real books will always exist. We can't say that same of kindles or nooks.
Yamato Posted October 20, 2012 Posted October 20, 2012 Well, They also use chemicals, and not all of the companies use paper from legitimate companies, paper is obtained from illegal loggers and companies who disregard the environment. It's impossible to tell which is worse, so I use some of both, since I don't want to stop reading.
