Oudeis he/him
In the entirety of all four currently released books, I can think of exactly two benefits a Tineye (or Feruchemist, for that matter) ever gets out of an enhanced sense of touch. One is a burst of pain to clear your mind. The other, in his fight scene Spook comments how he can feel the footsteps hitting the ground around him. Are there any others, in the books? I feel like I will regret opening this door, but can anyone else think of any advantage one might get from an enhanced sense of touch?
A Joe in the Bush
I for one have never been able to read Braille by touch. I can read it by sight (With difficulty), so Touch would be helpful for that. It could also be helpful for finding hinges in puzzle boxes and a wide variety of other traps like that. Oudeis he/him
Let me clarify that "tactile" refers to your sense of touch. I'm asking specifically for things pertaining to touch, not any of the other four common senses.
spencer12347 he/him
Tell if you can get a grip to lift yourself up or not, in a certain situation. Put in super small letters that you can only feel with sensitive fingers that only other tineyes can feel. ccstat he/him
Enhanced touch could let you feel for hidden seams in materials with secret drawers, etc. In a modern setting you could feel different wear (including direction of finger travel) on a keypad, thus deducing a door code (e.g.) Tactile sense is also a danger/proximity warning. You feel air movement on your skin (usually because you feel air moving your skin hairs) and know something is moving nearby and disturbing the air. Presumably tin could then help you be far more aware of your surroundings. You could gain more precision in your movements, since you can feel the exact distribution of pressure your foot is exerting on different parts of the floor. With practice this could lead to excellent dexterity, balance, and efficiency of movement.
Metanat
If touch increases your ability to feel heat it could almost let you have a person and warmth vision all around you.
BreathTaker he/him
In a modern setting a Tineye sniper could also feel the direction the wind is blowing better or just how heavy of a trigger pull their rifle has before firing. I know people can do that in RL without being a Tineye but this would increase that ability... Also, I did NOT read the title as "TACTILE benefits"
