Burnt Spaghetti she/her Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Ah yes those are good books. Hm. A girl gets abducted by a bear who she later has to save from a princess with a nose only pinnochio could compete with.

I loved those books....until my library got multiple copies of both UK and US versions that were titled differently and I couldn't keep track of what book was what.... Princess, bear....sounds like Brave but not quite?

Delightful Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Is it called something like East of the Moon? It involves the north/s/e/w winds as personalities? And ice I think? I think I read a retelling of it but I don't remember the exact title.

East of the Sun, West of the moon (close enough :P) Yes the winds help the girl to find the castle and take her there.
Delightful Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Awesome! ok. A guy gets his shirt complimented on by his unlikely saviour.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Is the shirt special in any way? Likely it's a mark of status, or armor or something non normal?

If you've read The Lightning Thief and then watched the movie, you understand what I mean. This is that situition on another level.

I guess it depends on which way you look at it but the Director tried to make it different to the books, and I thought it was fine. Sea of Monsters though *shudders* worse than pathetic Also, more hints please? Your hint is both specific and vague, strange i know

IIRC, one moment he was all "what the hell is this I don't even I'm going back home" and the next minute he was "rawr I am the hero!!" Okay. That hint was more about the compliment than the shirt. This story also involves a video-game playing, sad loner sidekick.

Not specifically, I had to google the name, but I can definitely see why you would make that connection. This story also involves organs. Outside of bodies. And some inside bodies, but not necessarily inside people, per se. Edited July 12, 2016 by Delightful

Perhaps Alex Rider? @Daniyah They made Kronos look like Satan. Very bad move Edited July 12, 2016 by Darkness Ascendant
Delightful Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 @Darkness Ascendant not Alex Rider, similar genre.

Chandrian Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Just throwing s guess out there, is it Grasshopper Jungle?
Delightful Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Nope! Okay here another clue. The supernatural is involved in this story. I wouldn't call it urban fantasy but it could maybe technically be categorised like that.
Burnt Spaghetti she/her Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Hrm. The only thing i can think of is Maximum Ride. Not so sure it's that though.
Delightful Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 No. Male first person. He has a morbid hobby that could be worse.
