[Theory] Adonalsium Shattered Itself

Each Shard has an intent.  Many of these intents contradict each other, sometimes prompting battles between Shards.  What was Adonalsium's intent?  It might have had no intent, since the intents would have canceled each other out, or it might have had all 16 intents at once.  This would cause Adonalsium to always be in conflict with itself.  Given the strength of the intents of the Shards that we have seen, it would also be in extreme agony, and never actually be able to do anything.  A solution to that situation would be for Adonalsium to shatter itself, hence my theory.

Well, I don't know but Harmony seems to have no problems even if he has in himself Ruin and Preservation, which are opposite: it seems that he has more power than the two separeted Shards

Yes, but harmony is managed by someone who knows how to handle the two shards.  Plus, those two particular intents actually work well together.

This could be plausible, though not for the same intent being proposed.  I have a theory that Adonalsium was shattered to counter whatever anti-adonalsium force was out there.  Though definitely not completely cannon, there is some threat prevalent in the Liar of Partinel snippets we've seen.  Perhaps Adonalsium was shattered to counter that threat because the nature of the threat rendered a whole Adonalsium incapable of countering it..or a complete Adonalsium is what was enabling the malevolent force to begin with.   Maybe Adonalsium became infected or just incapable of moving against it because of it was a part of Adonalsium also.  Either way Adonalsium shattered to counter this since the threat could not coalesce amongst divided, and some times diametrically opposed, intents, though I don't think it shattered exactly as it needed to and by allowing Adonalsium to shatter into Odium, it creates a huge problem.

According to WoB, there is something out there looking to destroy Adonalsium. My guess is that Hoid and his friends prevented this enemy from destroying Adonalsium, but in such a way that left Adonalsium shattered.

I've always thought Andonalsium was a person or person like being that was essentially a God.  This being was like other beings and had hates and likes and wants to grow and wants to destroy and all the things that a being has.  Then when he shattered each of these shards took a part of his desires with it.

 

To me Andonalsium was just like a human who has differing emotions and thoughts.  It didn't make him weak or in pain or constantly battling himself any more than humans battle with the want to do good against the want to help themselves.  Or how you can struggle with wanting to see an ex but knowing it's bad for you.  I guess I could be way off though.

Yeah, Adonalsium never struck me as the 'in pain' type. Personally, I think sommething was discovered on one of the planets that made him have to go blooey. ( Like somee planets may have needed a shard to sustain human life, so he had to explode. Just an example )
