Kittalia Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 It seems like a general consensus that Adonalsium is a person or object, but is there any WOB limiting it to that? It's always sounded like the name of a city to me, or it could even be something more abstract -- a religion, moral code, or magic system that was splintered. Since there are Spiritual and Cognitive realms, is there anything saying that it existed directly in the physical realm at all? Just throwing out questions 2
Lord Pifferdoo he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Oooooooooo I like this theory. Quick! Clever people! Find a WoB that confirms/denies/RAFOs the fact that Adonalsium is a concise person/place/thing/idea/mineral/pop culture reference. 1
hoidhunter he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Well...while I don't have the WoB handy...Brandon does mention somewhere that Adonalsium visited Roshar before the splintering...I guess it's possible for a place to visit another place...but it just doesn't seem to fit just right... 1
Kobold King he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Well...while I don't have the WoB handy...Brandon does mention somewhere that Adonalsium visited Roshar before the splintering...I guess it's possible for a place to visit another place...but it just doesn't seem to fit just right... It could fit if Adonalsium were an interstellar starship. In seriousness I like this idea. I love seeing outside-the-box thinking like this. 2
Oudeis he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Ah, you espouse the Belinda Carlisle theory. 1
Windrunner he/him Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 As Adonalsium has been referred to as a "he" multiple times by Brandon, including here. QUESTIONIf Adonalsium shattered with intent, will he always shatter to the same shards?BRANDON SANDERSONIt is plausible that he could shattered in a different way.QUESTIONSo it could've been different Shards?BRANDON SANDERSONYes, that's plausible.Source Personally I think it's actually probably beyond gender, but I do doubt that it's a place.
