Dalinar Clarification

Hi,

Just finished WoK, first Brandon Sanderson book I read and reading some forums it`s like everybody else is privy to knowledge that I must have missed somewhere.

I love the book and almost cried when I found out it was a 1st of 10 book series and 2nd wasn`t due until late 2013.

To my question;

Was there a point in the book that told Dalinar to unite the highprinces or is it something he just assumed?

When I hear Unite them I keep thinking it refers to the new knights radiant or something not the highprinces.

Thanks for any replies.

I always thought it was about uniting Humans and Parshendi... I don't think its about uniting Knight's Radiant because there are no more Knight's Radiant. They need to be created anew, not united. And imo just uniting Highprinces is too simple for Sanderson.

Yeah even this seems more plausible to me than uniting the highprinces, that`s why I was wondering it there was some kind of clarification on it or if that`s just what Dalinar has been assuming the whole time. I`ve only done 1 readthrough so I could have missed something.

Thats just my assumption. As far as I know its not yet clarified. Though you should read other books by Sanderson - Mistborn, Warbreaker(free PDF is available on Brandon's site) and Elantris. They're connected to each other and you'll get a lot of answers on other things. Mistborn reveals most though.

I personally assumed it meant uniting everyone on the planet.

Same here. I can't see how just uniting the Alethi, or just the Vorin kingdoms even, could stop something like what Dalinar witnessed in his last vision. Honestly, I'm not sure how any physical force could stop a Shard bent on their destruction anyway. Mistborn people kind of lucked out in that there was a handy Shard ready to be scooped up by a hero.
