taveren he/him Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 since shards are a large amount of investiture with an intent and humens all have some investiture themselves does the investiture of the person have any lasting effect on the shard however insignificant. we could even say this person was hoid who as far as we know is the most invested non shard if so could we just keep a chain of hoids holding a shard one after another till you get something with a completely different intent
hoidhunter he/him Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I see where you are going with this...(by the way, you misspelled human)...but I don't know if we have enough information to speculate. We know for certain that the intent of the shard has a significant influence on the person holding it (especially over time)...but I don't know if the individual has any influence over the intent of the shard. I have always assumed that the different intents of the shards were repesentitive of the 16 distinct parts of Adonalsium. Meaning that as a whole Adonalsium- Preserves, Ruins, Endows, Dominates, Devotes, Hates, Honors, etc...Much like if you were broken into 16 pieces...one would be your head, one would be your hands, one would be your heart, one would be your digestive tract, etc...I don't know that a long chain of people who were more like feet taking turns holding your hands would be able to make them into feet. Follow?
Lord Pifferdoo he/him Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I always assumed that a shard went back to "factory mode" when it was dropped. Since "Slivers" are a thing, I think that a shardholder's investiture stays connected to the holder and leaves when they leave.
hoidhunter he/him Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Right...once you have held a shard you are always connected to it in some way. I guess the theory is still possible...but if you think of how much investiture is present in 1 of the 16 shards of the power of creation in comparison to the latent investiture in every single human...I imagine that the ratio of one to the other is a huge difference. For the investiture of one person to influence such a huge thing would probably be difficult to say the least.
taveren he/him Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) that is why i was useing hoid since i figured he would have more investiture. this was mostly just an odd thought i had in my head and wondered if anyone else had considered it and i didn't notice i spelled human wrong till you said something i guess spell check didn't pop up on the title Edited January 2, 2015 by taveren 1
hoidhunter he/him Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) No prob...just another manifestation of the spell check shard. Up vote for having odd thoughts in your head...where would we be without them? Edited January 2, 2015 by hoidhunter
