sylphrena
Ok, so this is from the thread about Bridge 4 T-Shirts but I'm posting it over here since nobody has seemed to notice it over there yet. Boo hoo.
Shivertongue he/him
Ok, so this is from the thread about Bridge 4 T-Shirts but I'm posting it over here since nobody has seemed to notice it over there yet. Boo hoo. I like the work done on it. The images are great. Only issue is the back, for me. While it looks good, 'All I Got Was This Horneater Stew' felt a little... weak. Okay, very weak. Love the front image in particular, though
sylphrena
It does say 'lousy' Horneater Stew. What would be a better way to say it?
Link Von Kelsier Harvey he/him
I think it's more that shirts with that kind of theme are pretty common. My cousin actually made a shirt for Brandon that says "I gave my breath to the God-King, and all I got was this lousy shirt." (And got a picture of him wearing it.) Now, that and the bridge four shirt mock-up are awesome. But the form is a little tired, and I think we can do better. But if that shirt comes into existence, I will totally own one.
Shivertongue he/him
It's not the theme, actually. It's the length of the 'All I got was..." that throws it all off. 'Lousy Horneater Stew' has a few too many syllables. With this kind of gag, people are used to seeing 'Lousy T-Shirt', which is almost half the syllables of 'Lousy Horneater Stew', and the pacing throws it off. A really long 'lousy' thing can work, but it would need to be even longer than 'Horneater Stew' for that kind of humour to come into effect. Some other suggestions? Perhaps some cracked armour and 'All I got was this lousy ShardPlate'. I had other ideas earlier, but I can't really remember them right now.
Silus - Shard of Flame he/him
Why not just take out the "Lousy" part? The soup is supposed to be pretty awesome. And that would cut it down so that "Horneater Stew" is the same number of syllables as "Lousy T-Shirt". BTW, this shirt rocks.
Shivertongue he/him
Hmmm "And all I got was Horneater Stew" actually works pretty well. And it's nice and confusing for those who haven't read the book, which is added win!

sylphrena
And All I Got Was... ...this bag of dun spheres. ...this promotion to Captain. ...this Parshendi bone armor. Ok, silly, but you get the idea. Fill in your own!

IsasikShulin he/him
I haven't been on the forum for a few weeks but then I come back and find this gem! I love the design you've come up with for the shirt. Inkthinker and I had worked up something very similar, but the styles are completely different. I tend to agree with the consensus of the phrase on the back and prefer the simpler: Soup's on!
Troubadour he/him
Apologies for the sorta-kinda-necropost. Posted this up on TWG, but it's worth reposting here:
