RawToast225 he/him Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 There are several similarities between Ender's Game and Firstborn. It's as if Ender was Peter in Firstborn. That is honestly what drew me into the book in the first place. I loved it! Even technologies were similar. I love the passage of time in it as well. Incredible work. 2
BreathTaker he/him Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I just read it today and I agree it's pretty awesome. I had read pieces of it before but today I sat down and actually read it. 1
RawToast225 he/him Posted November 13, 2014 Author Posted November 13, 2014 I think Brandon Sanderson is too hard on himself. He tries to downplay his works and doesn't do a great job of selling himself. For example, the write up on Firstborn (maybe it's I Hate Dragons) is something along the lines of "you are about to read a very bad story." It's a shame, really. Have an up vote for the Flogging Molly quote. 2
BreathTaker he/him Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Thank you for the upvote. I agree, I think he says something similar is "Defending Elysium" but I think that story is great. "I Hate Dragons" had me laughing pretty hard too.
RawToast225 he/him Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Now, if he would just finish it. 2
