Hello!

I'm Asriel*! (not the Undertale character, nor the one from His Dark Materials; An OC loosely inspired by Phillip Pullman)
I'm new to the Shard, but not that new to Sanderson. I ran into Alcatraz about... four or five years ago? I deeply enjoyed it like the nerdy middle schooler I was at the time**.
I started reading Sanderson properly with Elantris maybe three years ago, and devoured the rest of his books in short order. I finished The Wheel of Time this past December. Having recently finished Tailored Realities, I think I've read everything he's written other than the Infinity Blade and Magic: The Gathering stories.

Some Sanderson-related facts about me:

• My favorite Secret Project is Frugal Wizard. Sue me if you dare - I'm not a lawyer, but I do speak legalese.
• It is closely followed by Fires of December, despite having not read it yet. I was entranced by the reading Brandon did, and I can't wait to get it later this year.
• I'm squarely in the camp of wanting Brandon's next book to be The Aztlantian.
• I do not like Skyward. IMO, Cytonic was the worst book Brandon has ever published. The pacing was so bad *shudders*.
• I didn't mind Wind and Truth. It wasn't the same level as the rest of Stormlight, but it was still good.

Some other facts about me:

• I love D&D and role-playing. I'm currently playing one D&D classic-style campaign and DMing another, set in a magical version of 1910s Europe.***/****
• I play the piano and pipe organ, sing in a choir, and dabble in composition.
• The only video game I've played more than twice is Minecraft.
• I live in the same time zone and belong to the same religion as Brandon.
• In case you haven't noticed, I like footnotes as much as Terry Pratchett.

** Only now am I reading Discworld and realizing that Brandon was trying out Pratchett's style with that series. I laughed pretty hard when I made that connection.
*** I'm about to start listening to Diceborn Season Two.
**** Should I get into the Shard RPs or are they dead?

Welcome, glad to have you here. There are plenty of RPs that aren’t dead(I personally have commitment issues with them but that’s a me thing)

Here are a couple of tips to help you settle in to your new place as a cog in the Grand Apparatus that is the Shard:

1. Join S(anderson) E(limination). (An RP mafia game themed to Sanderson settings)

2. Familiarize yourself with the most important forums: SE, Cosmere Q&A, and SE.

3. Thanks for telling us which books you have and haven't read (it helps us avoid spoilers)

Shard RPs don’t seem to be dead, but it might be best to check with someone who spends more time on them.

Hmm... I don't have one favorite per se, but I do really like Command-based systems. AonDor, Forgery, and Awakening (Of course, Intent is a big part of Awakening too.) are all wonderful.
If I had to pick one to live with (have it or know people who have it), though, I'd pick Feruchemy.

The RPs are very much alive. As a fellow Roleplayer, they are amazing and brimming with life. They are quite different than classical DND, which is the nature of forum RP, but the SE (Sanderson Mafia) games are well organized and designed well for the format.

Oh I like Minecraft*

** But I do like the tall numbers more than the asterisks

I know there are, but I also can’t remember the names of them right now

I know there’s the Alleyverse( idk what state it’s in right now), How to Kill a dragon, The Longest Thread, and a few others I’m forgetting
