Ascended Grubberfly He/Him Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I had a random train of thoughts just now, and it may be nothing but I find it to be a funny theory nonetheless. Symmetry is symbolic of two people honoring their oaths is the main idea. The give and take, equality on both sides, that sort of thing. Not groundbreaking, but what do you guys think of this? 1
earthexile Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Yep. Honor seems to be drawn to anything orderly and regular, anything where balance is expressed. Mathematics expressed as physical shapes will produce symmetrical outcomes, same thing with waves. Vorin culture connects symmetry with divinity because the signs of Honor's direct expression in reality have usually involved complex symmetrical shapes: The Dawncities, the glyphs that appear with Radiants, the way properly cut gemstones retain Stormlight much better, etc.
Ink and Embers Any pronouns Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago From a meta perspective, Honor itself is a Vorin palindrome of a word, so that probably made it into Rosharan culture!
