Hello,
When reading WaT Interlude I-12, I was wondering, who are "Cultivation's Agents", that she has sent to Kharbranth.
My all assumptions leads me into Horneaters. We know, that they are living in the mountains and somewhat protects Cultivation's perpendicularity.

Horneaters should be strong enough to invade Kharbranth and let's say, that Horneaters Peaks are relatively close to Kharbranth.
I also do not see anyone, who Cultivation could be in touch with.

In my opinion, Horneaters novel could also expand the topic from this Interlude, which then would be followed by moving Horneaters into Shadesmar.

Have you ever wondered who were Cultivation Agents from this Interlude?

I always assumed her agents were the same people she sent to assassinate the people of Kharbranth.

Based on the description of those people, I think we can safely assume they’re not horn-eaters, though I’m not sure what they are.

As for Cultivation’s perpendicularity and the Horneaters, I actually don’t think so either. Whenever they mention their beliefs and traditions, there’s never a “head Spren” or something like that. It’s always spren in general.

They were from Babatharnam.

WoK Ch 46:

Spoiler

“Babatharnam,” Sigzil said. “I visited there once, with my master. They have very peculiar trees. The entire plant—trunk and all—lies down when a highstorm approaches, as if built on hinges. I was thrown in prison three times during our visit there. The Babath are quite particular about how you speak. My master was quite displeased at the amount he had to pay to free me. Of course, I think they were using any excuse to imprison a foreigner, as they knew my master had deep pockets.” He smiled wistfully. “One of those imprisonments was my fault. The women there, you see, have these patterns of veins that sit shallowly beneath their skin. Some visitors find it unnerving, but I found the patterns beautiful. Almost irresistible…”

WaT I-12:

Spoiler

There, Cultivation’s agents were in motion. People with faintly blue veins beneath the skin, wearing black, their faces covered. They carried modern equipment: crossbows, half-shard shields, blades of the finest steel, and armor of some strange Soulcast material. Which was hard enough to stop an arrow, yet lightweight, and left them limber.

Hope that helps
