Uhhh…

It’s probably just a very extreme case of art block that lasted a few months. I spent a long time not being able to finish a drawing, and those I did finish were bad. It came to the point that I stopped drawing because I knew everything I tried would inevitably end up bad.

As horrible as it was for me, I am so grateful for that time, because it ended with the first piece in my current style…

Kind of. My style has continued evolving, but it’s built on that first drawing after so many failures

it's a really interesting style, because it seems to take visual concepts from cartoonism and use them in a very genuine and expressive way without being too similar to manga. It's unique and interesting, and I like the colors especially. One critique I would have is that on some smaller objects, detail is lost because of the heavy black borders. removing them entirely would take away from your artistic style, so I suggest that on smaller objects that necessitate high detail, you use a black ink pen as opposed to what I assume is a sharpie- essentially something with thinner lines to allow more detail.

It’s really just me trying to learn to draw Zelda characters, (Yes, that’s how I learned, if you didn’t already see it, now you can struggle to unsee it!) and then getting sidetracked with other style ideas.
Not using a sharpie, but instead a set of ink pens of various thickness. Unfortunately, said pens have been dying, forcing me to use thicker ones as time presses on. It’s something I am working on, but finding good replacements is hard
