+GreyHive Posted December 5, 2025 Posted December 5, 2025 Four years ago, I posted my end-of-the-cosmere theory, which can be found here. With the release of Isles of the Emberdark, we've now got a TON more information about the Sleepless. I share to get feedback, both affirming and constructive! Supporting my theories: In the furthest point in the timeline of the Cosmere, Sleepless are found on most of the prominent planets (Roshar, Scadrial, Lumar, 1st of the Sun, The Grand Aparatus, Komashi). Similar to Thanos in the first Saga of Avengers movies, they are hinted at, but never the main villian. The Sleepless have the capability to travel in the physical realm between planets. The Sleepless "prefer to influence behind the scenes" and have been placed in positions of power (like a spy for the Malwish emporer) The Sleepless anatomy includes a critical weakness, with Memory and Processor nodes that are limited in number, restricted by distance and a way "perma-kill". For them to become the big bad, there needs to be a way for the heroes to win. Chrysalis describes herself as a God. The Sleepless can be really old (6,000 years), giving them a longer horizon to implement plans. Detracting from my theories: Nothing concrete. This book has my excitement about this theory turned up to 11! Admittedly, I am mostly locked in on: The Sleepless will be the way Adonalsium reforms. Autonomy will play a role. TYIA!
