He'll stop after going a little ways into the ground and feeling no moisture, but if he feels that there might be water a little bit further down, he keeps digging.

Jemms considered where to go. The hills seemed out in the open... Too open, right? Open was bad, he was pretty sure. On the other hand, the dead trees were scary... Too scary! And it was hard to move around in places like that without crunching around on all the dead leaves and branches and revealing his location. The evergreens, then. That has to be a good idea, right? He looked back at the remaining tributes nearby, then sped towards the evergreen forest.

Forest

Stylan wakes up after a while and stretches, then takes another chunk out of his bread. He surveys his supplies. Half a loaf of bread, one and a half bottles of water (clean), 3 potatoes, one full vial of verdant spores, a nearly-full vial of roseite spores, and his roseite club. He sits and thinks about his strategy while munching on bread. Far off in the distance, he hears commotion at the cornucopia. He looks over and can just see over the trees, and sees someone running toward the forest.
