I am a stubborn man who is accustomed to corralling an entire class of children for an hour. Twice. Each day. I may not have the same power level, but I have one thing. Willpower. And I know how to use it."

You say you have Willpower, Perseverance, Determination, there are so many names. That's all fine and dandy, but you still don't have the answer to the one question that matters... Do you have more?"

"What's not a real thing? Who has more Willpower? It's not an on/off, not a boolean variable. It's a variety of things. I would argue that if one has more Willpower, there is no finesse to it. You point the determination at a goal, and you keep going. It doesn't matter if you are smart enough or clever enough, that's not willpower. If you have enough Willpower, nothing else matters except for time. And time is what we would be fighting for."

(Really hope I spelled that right.) I have seen children I teach all apply an equal amount of willpower toward various tasks; the question truly comes when they must apply it to tasks they don't want to do. This is where variation occurs."
