I'm just like in general, wow this is super dumb. Can you at least give me the intellectual courtesy for a super secret plot that will vanish by having people to discuss it in PMs? It's like the student I had during COVID who on the proctored exam had her phone in her hand in camera view while she has a pencil in the other writing on the exam. She could have just held the phone slightly out of the camera frame so I don't know she's cheating! Like, come on xD What are we doing here. 

Like it would also be dumb to do this in PMs but at least it wouldn't be insultingly dumb to think publicly posting this wouldn't be noticed.

I am sorry. I understand how this is dumb. And how it could have a bad effect on some people.

But I did not hide it because I did not wish to deceive. 

Did I want to jump scare people, yes. Was that stupid, yes.

Did I want anyone to seriously think I was trying to impersonate the head admin, or trying to make people think for more than half a second that you had done something? No. 

I'm a fool. But an honest one.

And I would rather be known as an idiot than a liar.

I agree you weren't malicious. But come on, I get it, it sucks to get caught (which obviously you would have preferred not to), and I know it's real easy to rationalize yourself as the hero. I get that. But don't come here saying, "I'm honest" and also "I tracked when Chaos would be on and I'll be sure to the hide the evidence so he never knows." Those cannot both be true. Did you state a lie? Ehhh you could argue that but I'm willing to grant that you didn't state a lie. It is obvious you knew you weren't supposed to and did it anyway and wanted to the hide the evidence. Believe what you wish, but I don't think any reasonable person would describe that as honesty. 

Yes, we are all aware you were doing this for a light laugh, sure. I'm more just irritated by how you went about it in every other way. You could have just done it for a bit and changed it back after you got a few people, and not be like "Tee hee hee I'm sure he won't find out!" You could have also like, asked me? I don't know, maybe I'd have said yes. (Probably wouldn't have now.)

You don't need to make this whole diatribe, you can just take the L and be like "Yeah okay that was ill-advised..." Absolutely none of this feels like you're honest or understanding the issue at all. My judgment could be wrong in that respect, however.
