Kang entered the bar, tucking his notes on the mark under his cloak. He wore his signature outfit (for reference, he has a mask that is one sided glass, and on the back of his cloak he has the yin yang), earning him strange looks.

He took a seat near the back of the bar, where he could watch the masked man he was presumably meeting. @Kansas Stormcursed

(Note I’m not gmodding by saying your character isn’t watching me - you can by all means react to my entrance)

Urilo collapsed back at his flat; he was exhausted. He had managed to deliver 24 messages in one night across 15 different Sectors, no easy task. But of those, he expected 14 of them to actually meet, and only thought six of them would actually be willing to help. He would trust that the meetings would go well.

@Sherma Main

@TwinStorm

@Hoid Slayer

You all approach the meeting spot at 0659, deep in Sector 14 at the crossroads of 51 and 37. You all arrive at a bar.

@InfiniteInsanity

@The Aspiring Archivist

You meet at the abandoned factory in Sector 47, you are at the south entrance.

@Spark of Hope

You are sitting at a bar, wondering where the person is that you were going to meet. When a cloaked figure slides into the stool next to you.

Name: A. Lias (refuses to tell anyone her real name)

Age: 23

Appearance: Slightly wavy brown hair, hazel eyes (the kind that look different colors depending on her surroundings), wide hips, looks ten years older than she actually is, has scars all over her body

Backstory and personality: (spoilered for TW abuse)

  Reveal hidden contents

Lias was raised outside of the undercity in a higher class of society. Received the equivalent of an eighth-grade education. Nearly nine years ago, she was kidnapped and sold to a bar for patrons to have a happy, fun time with her. During the time when they rented her, they could do whatever they wished with no penalty, hence her scars. Any time she conceived, she was beaten until she miscarried. Counted the days of her enslavement and every time it happened. The numbers are burned into her mind. Two months ago, she took an opportunity to escape and has since been in hiding and on the run, doing odd jobs to try to buy her way out of the under city. No longer believes there is good in anyone. If anyone makes physical contact with her, they are on the ground before they can do or say anything else. She never smiles anymore, though if she did, it would break anyone’s heart. Her eyes have lost their light.

Name: Fallon

Description: A disillusioned Mercenary who’s lost hope in everything and everyone. A highly dangerous warrior with tendencies towards violence, but hasn't fought (besides occasional bar fights) in several years now. Older and washed-up

Name: Weaver

Age: 19

Backstory:
Weaver’s backstory is shrouded in mystery. The Undercity circulates with rumors and lies. This is the truth:
William Furthington was the third child of a small noble family up Topside. He was destined for a comfortable life of mediocrity, spending his years in safe boredom. 14 years ago, William Furthington went missing. He was kidnapped by a small-time Undercity Crime Lord with a vendetta against the Furthingtons, with the intent of ransom. An investigation was launched, and eventually, the gang that took William was found and slaughtered. William was never found and was presumed dead. He survived. Five-year-old him had run from the gunshots and hidden in the slums of the Undercity. Over the next 14 years, William traded master for master. After a few torturous months, he was found by Everton, a powerful yet benevolent Crime Lord who took in several serving boys who ran his errands. Everton was murdered by rivals. William - going by Will - served in a bar for a while, counting checks. The bar burned down. So Will grew up. After a while, he gained renown for his brain. He served as a scribe, accountant, and analyst. Sometimes, he would get paid if he was lucky. At night, he would dream of Topside at first. But the people who surrounded him would never allow him to escape, and he ceased to dream. Eventually, Will ended up working for a Crime Lord dealing in dangerous Vextech. One day, something at the factories went wrong, and a massive Vextech explosion blew it all to smithereens. More than a hundred died. Corpses and red smoke littered the horizon. And, at the center of it all, in a sea of wreckage, a single man lay untouched. The accident had left him with a glowing red scar resembling a spiderweb over his left eye - an eye that glowed with the embers of flames. That night, Weaver was born. When the man awoke, he was surrounded by a shocked crowd. And filled with a vision. That was two months ago. Since then, the figure known as Weaver has grown a cult following, carving out a space for himself in the Undercity and challenging the regimes of the Crime Lords. And he has made ripples up Topside by claiming to be the lost Furthington heir after the death of the Lord and his two eldest in an aircraft accident. His followers believe him to be touched by the Divine, a fallen angel, or Christ-like figure. They miss what he truly is.
Just a man, walking a tightrope. Not ready to fall.

Name: Cora

Age: 11-13 somewhere in there.

Backstory: Her mom was forced into the same line of work as A. Lias, though at an older age. The first time she conceived, she was forced to miscarry, and it nearly killed her, both because of the physical and the mental effects. So the second time, she ran away. She convinced herself that her baby was the key to a new life. She gave birth to a baby girl, Cora, and they lived in hiding for years. But around when Cora was 5, her mom was found by the people she worked for before and killed. Cora was briefly taken in by someone who taught her the basics of what she would need to survive and then left her to fend for herself. Since then, she's been mostly on her own, only interacting with others when she needs to survive. Is a messenger/courier

@The Aspiring Archivist

Name: Kole

Age: 21 years old

Backstory: born and raised in the undercity who dreams of escape. He suffered a traumatic brain injury as a young child from a beating that affected his ability to process sound, among other things, rendering him effectively deaf. When he could no longer survive off of pity and petty theft, he joined a criminal organization, convincing them that he could use his reputation as an invalid to avoid suspicion, conducting everything from light espionage to assassinations. He plays up his injury in public, pretending a degree of madness.

Misc: He can speak and read lips, or read and write, to communicate.

Name: Ning Kang, the Archivist (surname is actually Ning, not Kang)

Description: Grim, vigilante type. After plotting (and succeeding) to murder a high-standing / upper-class member of the [above city], he fled to the undercity. Now, he dispenses justice to those he deems unworthy. However, when he executes someone, it is only for the worst crimes. He then attempts to document as much of their lives as he can.

Weapon of choice: some sort of sci-fi Dao (Chinese sword) blade thingamajig

Vigilante Appearance (costume!): A mask over his face, which is smooth and dark black. No eye slit, but it is one-sided glass. Wears a dark cloak above light body armor. On the back of the cloak is a yin-yang

Appearance: Looks kinda normal (..sorry for that wonderful description), except for a burn on one side of his face.

Kole approached the entrance and looked around warily, then spoke the phrase as instructed: "No man or woman born, coward or brave, can shun his destiny."

Kang nodded to the other assassin (If we’re working together, I’m assuming that’s what you are? I think that’s what he would assume), but did not move.

Weaver glanced away. His heart thrummed in his chest. His brain sorted through a thousand different fears, before, again, that thought was pushed down as well. He had chosen to come here. He would do this.

The barkeep studies you for a moment too long, then pours a drink and hands it to you.

Weaver snatched the drink too-quickly, and nodded in thanks. He looked at the glass in his hand, and wondered for a moment what he should do with it now. He couldn't exactly take off his mask...

Thankfully, he was saved by the movement of the masked man in the corner. He saw the man stand up and leave down a side passage, and suddenly remembered the code in his message. His heart skipped a beat at his forgetfulness, and he quickly pulled the crumpled paper out of his pocket to revise it. He read the instructions, and looked up at the barkeep, who was still watching him expectantly with a raised eyebrow. Under his mask, Weaver made an awkward grin, and leaned in to whisper hopefully:

"Be strong, saith my heart; I am a soldier;
I have seen worse sights than this."

Kole was momentarily surprised by the young girl, but chose not to comment. Instead, he shifted his attention to the woman and stepped closer. Although he really only did it because it was dark in the factory and he needed a closer look at her lips, he figured it might lend him an air of confidence that would work in his favor. He said nothing, silently awaiting an explanation.
