When the Sleepless epigraphs talk about the finality of the confrontation

They say something about believing that this duel between Honor and Odium is the end of that matter. As it stands, it ends by the two being composed into Retribution. Is this foreshadowing, then, that the further conflict will not end up being about breaking the Retribution Shard into those two pieces again? Or that even if such is accomplished, Honor and Odium will not resume their fight? (So that we wouldn't have a book-10 finale scene where someone has split Retribution apart as such and then e.g. Kaladin takes up Honor and uses it to defeat Odium, or anything else along such a line; and the Honorchild's arc, such as it is, will not be about defeating Odium "from within" Retribution; etc.)
