"Any idea where these doors go?"

“I believe anywhere and everywhere. The only way to remove them is to destroy the door on the other side, then they disappear on this side. This side has doors that cannot be broken. I believe every door has a perfect counterpart here.”

"And who are you?"

"Call me Viro. For now, anyways. And you?"

"So we just go anywhere? Sweet! I could probably find, like, a door to treasure or something!"

A door swung open. It was a large, antique-looking door made of polished cherry wood in a traditional style. The handle was arched and bronze, streaks visible on it from prior use. The door creaked as it opened, sunlight flooding in through the frame, illuminating the area beyond briefly. The sunlight glinted off of other doors, and for a moment, one could see a forest lying beyond. The sunlight brightened the area, blocked only by a man as he stepped through the doorway.

The man looked to be in his late twenties, with olive skin and black hair combed to the side. He was wearing black pants and a button down shirt with a silver wristwatch that shined in the pooling light. A brown coat, long at the waist, was over this and his brown eyes flashed as he turned.

With a swift gesture, the man closed the door behind him. His breathing was hurried, but not fast enough for him to have been running. Slowly he turned around, taking in his surroundings. Surprise flashed across the man's face as he notised the others standing there.

"Who are you, friend?"

"My name is Lazar."

He glances furtively over his shoulder before taking a step forwards.

"What are you doing in this... place?"

"Searching. You?"

Lazar glanced around, wondering which of the doors the person before him had come from.

Are they rogues? Or is there a third group that I had not known about?

His mind rebelled at the thought, but he had to consider it a possibility.

Not that it would go over well for me if they are. Either way, I have to be cautious about what I say until I figure out whatever the hell these people are doing here.

Aloud, Lazar responded.

"Searching for what? One could easily find themselves lost in here."

"Searching for someone I lost long ago. I am already lost; I simply wander, hoping to find."

Lazar visibly relaxed some, though he still seemed guarded.

A loner, then. I should be safe for now, but...

He looked over at the others standing beyond.

"Are you with them?"

"I believe you must search for it."

With that, she opens a nearby sturdy oak door and steps through.

"Yeah, of course..."Viro began opening doorways, up until a sturdy birch one and gasped.

A tiny man appears, wrinkled but spry.

"Welcome to The Door-Way!" he exclaims. "It has been ages since we had visitors!"

Aeryn pauses, about to step through a door. "Who are you?"

Lazar inspected the others more carefully.

They don't look the type, but you can never tell.

"It's not common to find so many people all in the same place here," he said suspiciously.

Before I meddle with everyone, did you have a plot in mind?

"Common? No, I suppose not. But then, this isn't a common place."
