The Metallian He/Him Posted June 6, 2025 Posted June 6, 2025 Hello! I've been a Cosmere fan since about 2012, when I read Elantris, then Mistborn, then everything else. I don't get heavy into theorizing, myself, but I eagerly read everyone else's theorizing on the Coppermind and the Arcanum whenever I get caught up on books. I'm on the 17th Shard Discord, and I've read this forum before, but I finally joined because I wanted to read Aether of Night and this was the place to request it. After I joined, i received a friendly suggestion to introduce myself here, so here I am! The Metallian

What is your favourite MOI, and what is your favourite system, and why? Also, do you know any aethers? If you do, please put in a good word.

This can be a difficult question, so you may pick multiple. What non-compounding Twinborn combination would you want?

I hadn't thought too much about favorites, but...probably AonDor. First of all: It's the closest to being a straight-up wizard. Second: I'm a programmer, and it's the most like programming. Alas, I don't know any Aethers personally and have only heard of one by name, but I did just get my copy of Aether of Night, so we'll see! The Metallian

Offhand, I'd say: Jasnah, Adolin, Marasi, Hoid, and Nightblood are all characters of whom I'm particularly fond. Twinborn combinations...I'd have to think hard about that. Especially since some of the more esoteric Feruchemical uses have not been fully explained, yet. I'm super tired at the moment, and don't sleep well in general, so Feruchemical Bronze is very tempting. Allomantic Pewter would be nice in terms of healing and generally feeling better. Those are fairly "boring" applications, but I'm feeling pretty beat from a late night last night and a bunch of yard work this morning, so that's where my head's at at the moment. Through The Living Glass She/They Posted June 9, 2025 Posted June 9, 2025 Hey there! Welcome to the Shard! Thanks for telling us what you've read! What's your favorite type of spren?

What are your top 2 cosmere magic systems?

I do think I'm temperamentally suited to Inkspren, and I certainly like the Elsecaller powers, but there just haven't been many scenes with Ivory, let alone any others. Second? Maybe Surgebinding? (Does Microkinesis count? ) The Metallian

I do not condone any irl hemalurgic practices. However, you do have to admit, it is pretty freaking cool. I disagree with the morals, but agree with the worldbuilding. I love it as a plot point, a way to theorize and learn, I love how you could pass down powers to future generations, or kill everyone in the cosmere with a single aluminum spike (look it up, their overpowered). Hemalrugy is the worst MoI of the Cosmere. But, it is the coolest (Besides Feruchemy) MoI in the cosmere.

The coolest got to be Surgebinding, but if I could take one I'd go Feruchemy. What I would give for brassminds and copperminds...

The only cool part about surgebinding is that you get a little friend to help you.
