ChickenBonanza Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 All Shards are a mode taken to the extreme. All Valor cares about is Valor. You can justify retreat pretty easily, and no Shard is going to rebel so soon against one of the Shatterers, but it will still have gripes, which might easily be swayed by other means. (Like, Virtuosity could be fine with desecrating the work of Adonalsium if it means new artistry takes form) Like continually working to oppose Virtuosity, pursuing him even as he flees from the supernova, or perhaps workings to contain the blast or resultant black hole. 1

CoderDrag0n8 He/They Posted July 16, 2025 Posted July 16, 2025 Can someone explain to me Microkenisis? I would like my MoI to be somewhat similar to it and don't have the time to read Dragonsteel Prime (Although I will read it in the future)

Honor believe in oaths- it doesn't care about what it means, just the words. Odium is divine wrath- without mercy or compassion to give it direction or temperament. Preservation believes in an absolute stasis, finding all change repugnant. Ruin thinks everything must be destroyed eventually (Ruin was tempered somewhat by Ati- that eventually is important) It stands to reason that Valor would be the same. Courage taken too far is foolishness, and Bravery taken too far is recklessness. 2 minutes ago, CoderDrag0n8 said: Can someone explain to me Microkenisis? It takes something from them, that comes back with rest.

I would like my MoI to be somewhat similar to it and don't have the time to read Dragonsteel Prime (Although I will read it in the future) Here’s what I remember: Spoiler In DP, it’s expending a well of energy to manipulate atoms, called axi. Users of it are seen destroying objects and people, manipulating light, and speeding the growth of plantlife. Cohesion and Stoneshaping are noted to be similar to Microkinesis, but more limited. Tension could theoretically resemble a possible use as well. In short, it’s extensive matter manipulation by messing with atoms. Users also can ‘see’ atoms and differentiate them, which is neat.

Valor already has started, by showing compassion for his enemies. And the shard won't flee him yet, no matter what he does. Honor stuck with tannavast, despite his oath breaking.

Spoiler People are just kinda born with it, and generally could only use it to do a certain subset of things. Each example above corresponds to something single person could do well, with others being very difficult. One could manipulate light well, another destroy well, etc. There was another magic in DP that could be learned, but microkinesis is intrinsic.

It’s expending Cognitive energy to attack something’s Spiritual aspect, such that it is damaged in the Physical. A little bit like Nightblood or Shardblades, in that it damages the spirit. 1

Emberdark Spoiler Honestly it probably should be a creature of anti-Investiture, like the entities, but that's a spoiler and would make the whole thread emberdark spoiler. Anyways, the entities don't get obliterated by the intensier, so id be surprised if the Maw does.
