Oh that’s really good but also disconcerting. You doing alright there?

*hugs*

*hugs back*

Thanks. Yeah, I'm okay.

I could have sworn it was you I replied to, but anyway no cause I haven't worked on singing yet. Saving that for college, trying to work one instrument at a time.

Good. Okay is better than not.

Ok, two months later and I have a couple of things, I have to figure out which ones I haven't posted in here

In the meantime: as my listening becomes more sea-shanty based, I've been working on this. I'm thinking steady beat if I can find somebody with a kickdrum, and a flute (if I can find somebody with a flute, or learn it cause it's on my list) to trace the vocal pattern. Idk what I'll do with the guitar

Spoiler

The breeze in my hair as I soar through the air

Sparks a high that twists and turns

The arc that I trace meets the ground and then

For the air my heart it yearns

The wind it is free and it calls to me

As I walk upon the ground

I live for the times when I leave the ground

And the wind is all around

I'd love any feedback, especially on rhyme scheme. The first lines of the verses wound up with middle rhyme or whatever it's called (first half of the line rhyming with the second half), and I'd like to do that with the 3rd lines of each as well but can't really work out how

New song!!!!

I LOVE it!!!! I feel like I can actively hear it being sung!!!! It feels like a sky sea shanty. Personally I think the third lines are good as they are because they make it feel more rhythmic, but then again I don't know loads about sea shanties.

It's awesome!!!!

The wind it is free and it calls to me

As I walk upon the ground

I am kin to the wind and I know her name

For the wind she is kin to me

And when all else fails and the world falls down

I know she will bring me free

The spring's soft breeze is crisp and clean

In its wake the grass grows green

The wind in the summer is calm and beats

Away my worries

The autumn breeze blows the leaves from the trees

Like the problems from my soul

The winter wind cuts like a sharpened sword

The rot that creeps into my mind

I am kin to the wind and I know her name

For the wind she is kin to me

And when all else fails and the world falls down

I know she will bring me free

The wind in my hair as I soar through the air

Sparks a high that twists and turns

When the arc that I trace meets the ground I brace

 For my issues they return

I am kin to the wind and I know her name

Title: Bleed Out

Spoiler

There's red on the ground
And red all around
And I greet the damned
With a smile on my face

The red it grows wide-
-er, some of it's mine
Someone meets my eyes
I know I go with grace

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can folks like you and me do
In the face of its fury
I know some people who have picked the
Spot they want to be their last, a
Place they'd fade out and they'd bleed out
In a great blaze of glory

I've heard this is dark
And breaks people's hearts
The end of the arc
Is a curse to foresee

If it will be true
I can't say to you
Known since 'twenty-two
It lies near my family

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can folk like you and me do
In the face of its fury
I know some people who have picked the
Spot they want to be their last, a
Place they'd fade out and they'd bleed out
In a great blaze of glory

The world it is messed
Up, we're on the edge
Of time of the reck-
-oning change needs to pass

No God up in Hea-
-ven sends our salva-
-tion we are the a-
-gents of change—time to act

This world is violent and it's hateful
It will tear you and will break you
What can dolks like you and me do
In the face of its fire
I've had my bleed out spot since 'twenty-
Two though I hope that I won't need
It but if it will turn that damn Wheel
I'll go out like a fighter

The red it grows wide-
-er, some of it's mine
Someone meets my eyes
As I smile to his face

For eyes like the sea
And love that won't leave
For him I will plead
Make this world a better place

Sam kept his head down and went through his life

And started to wonder what if

He started to want a way out of his future

And he started eyeing that cliff

They met out back of the school after hours

Both watching the edge of a knife

They talked and decided to wait and consider

What somebody else could make life

They had dark days but they helped to get through

Each holding the other one up

They talked every day and they clung to each other

But soon it just wasn't enough

Sam came home late one day caught up in traffic

And found the place empty and dark

He ran to the school to the woods sprawled behind

And found her with steel in her heart

Morning it broke over red and blue lights

And all that was left of two lives

Four men dressed in blue stood around hesitant

To move those with hands still entwined

Time in life is fleeting and it goes within a blink

The slow draw in and exhale out just gone not to return

Some can't find the reasons to hold on and carry through

Some fires slowly crackle and some fires quickly burn

I can't keep you here forever though I'll try my best

I know you'll choose the time to leave and sink into the deep

All I ask is for a promise kept while you stay here

Please try to make this world a better place before you leave

Jane was a girl from a real nice family

They're just what a family should be

Her parents would help her through all of her problems

So why did she still want to leave

Sam was a boy from the south side of town

His daddy had left 'fore he's four

His mama she loved him but sometimes got angry

And he didn't feel anymore

Jane knew she didn't have strength 'nough for it

Her shelter it just made her weak

So she started looking for someone to help her

Find out how to make it quick

Sam kept his head down and went through his life

And started to wonder what if

He started to want a way out of his future

And he started eyeing that cliff
